Squeeky has the “Unite for Diabetes” symbol
that represents the fight against Diabetes worldwide

To test their accuracy, Dr. Montgomery and his scientific team decided to manipulate the genes of Squeeky and the other mice that are part of this study, to be born with a blue circle in their chests that represents the symbol of the fight against Diabetes worldwide.

In this story, in addition to highlighting the importance of education and positive attitude to keep Diabetes well controlled, it also shows the human side of scientific research and the immense effort of many, including laboratory mice, where all united fight, at all costs, to discover new therapies, treatments, devices to achieve optimal control of Blood Glucose and A1c levels and even to find a cure for Diabetes.

Squeeky, Melissa and Diabetes

Melissa, a 9-year-old girl, is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and a few days later, she meets Squeeky, a laboratory mouse that is part of a scientific study that seeks to find a cure for this disease, through the genetic manipulation of the body’s own stem cells, so that the pancreatic islets are formed again and return to produce insulin again.

The results of this study should be presented at the World Diabetes Congress, so Squeeky will have to return to Dr. Edward Montgomery’s scientific research center, at all costs, so that he can fulfill his mission.

Squeeky and Melissa form a beautiful friendship in this amazing and motivational story full of teachings, adventures, music and fun.

 

Squeeky returns to the Laboratory

After finishing his assignment with Melissa, it is time for Squeeky to embark on his return trip to Dr. Montgomery’s scientific research center to fulfill his true mission in life. Here he meets Rocco, an ordinary mouse, who will teach him how to survive in the world of the sewers and Kiara, a cute little mouse, and together they will embark on the long journey back.

When Squeeky and his new friends finally arrive at the Laboratory, they find that everything was a disaster and no one was there. Without any doubt, something very serious had happened and now Squeeky, with his friends, will have to solve this mystery and find a solution to what could have happened, since they had to present, at all costs, the results of this study at the World Diabetes Congress.
